Have you ever had friends go on and on and on about a certain series or movie so much that you start to wonder what’s the whole deal about and finally give in and watch it? Well that happened to me with Grey’s Anatomy and I am glad it did.
Why?
"McDreamy, Mcsteamy, McVettie" That’s why!!
I want them all!!! Yes that’s the reason that kept bringing me back to Grey’s.
So my next stop: Seattle Grace Hospital.
Ummm let me see how I would describe Grey’s well its more of a serious ‘SCRUBS’ except with oodles of drama, love and excitement. The series basically revolves around Dr. Meredith Grey , who began the show as a surgical intern, the show is based primarily on her life and trials, her turbulent on and off love affair with Dr.Derek ( once married then nearly divorced still married then finally divorced resident with looks to die for and great hair) and her relationship with her best friend, her “person” Yang (the compulsive go getter who likes nothing better that to get her hands on a good surgery) and her flat mates Izzie and George, also along the line come Burke, Karev, Sloan, Callie and Addison. The show depicts the tension and anxieties of their lives separately and when they cross as they work in the same place.
In case you have missed what has happened till now in the series, don’t lose heart rent the DVD, watch the episodes online or let me help you with a short recap, like a really short recap but whatever…
Towards the end of the third season, candidacy for the position of Chief Resident among the residents became a prominent subject, for Dr. Callie Torres and especially for Dr. Miranda Bailey. The race for Chief of Surgery between Dr. Addison Montgomery, Dr. Derek Shepherd, Dr. Mark Sloan and especially Dr. Preston Burke highlighted the final few episodes of the third season. As of the third season finale, Dr. Meredith Grey, Dr. Cristina Yang, Dr. Izzie Stevens and Dr. Alex Karev have become second-year residents, except Dr. George O'Malley who failed his intern exam by a single point (it was heart wrenching L)The fourth season introduced Dr. Lexie Grey, a first-year intern; as well as Dr. Erica Hahn, as the new Head of Cardiothoracic surgery.
Tune into Grey’s Anatomy from mow on, every Sunday 9pm to 10pm.
Enough of the mundane stuff, wondering what gets me so excited--->watch Grey's if you believe in love and the power of human life, if you believe in friendship, if you believe doctors are a God-send and what goes in making them one, otherwise watch it for the hot men and women in it and the tensions that rise with in and outside. All in all I’d say the show is very interesting and entertaining and if you're looking for reality then well don't watch TV. Now the only bummer (okay! well not exactly,) is that Meredith gets to choose from the hot men, I mean why? That’s so unfair. Hehehe…
TRIVIA: The show's producers used a "blind-casting" technique, resulting in a racially diverse cast. All roles for Grey's Anatomy are cast without the characters' race being pre-specified, in keeping with creator Shonda Rhimes' vision of diversity.
Music plays a key role in the creation of Grey's Anatomy. Each episode of the show is uniquely named after a song. The episode titles usually have something to do with the theme or moral of the episodes.
The title of the show is a reference to the famous medical handbook Gray's Anatomy.
Patrick Dempsey auditioned for the role of Dr. Chase on FOX's prime time medical mystery show, House, before taking the role of Dr. Shepherd.
Isaiah Washington was fired from the show after Season 3 after he made comments on the sexual orientation of T.R. Knight.
The show was originally supposed to be called "Complications".
