Kara Saunders – A woman with sweetest smile ever – you know the one that could melt a million hearts and then add to that her braids – I have this thing for women in braids and unkept hair!!!
Kara Saunders dreamed about becoming a designer from an early stage. At the age of 21, in 1988, she graduated from Rutgers University, before getting involved with the Air Force. For this reason, she travelled a lot, until she decided to settle down in New York City, looking for a space in the fashion world and that space she got in Bravo’s hit reality show Project Runway.
That was after she moved to Hollywood, California – where she got her final break in Project Runway. Saun got to the final two, but came in second. Since then, her career has improved, working as costume designer for many TV shows.
In 2005, Saun became costume designer for the UPN sitcom Eve as well as for the The WB series What I like about You, starring Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth. Saun created gold dresses for an America's Next Top Model campaign, and designed for Chilli and T-Boz's UPN show R U the Girl. Kara Saun was also on the Style Network's show How Do I Look? as a guest stylist in the episode Emelia Stuart.
It seems from rags to riches is the flavor of her life – Good on you girl and keep that smile happening!!!
